Review of "Остров Рача – отдых с ночёвкой на тропическом острове" Excursion

We went on this two-day excursion in September. Since it's off-season, Racha Island has waves, not like Patong, but still manageable. We were picked up from our hotel on time (by a Thai driver) and taken to the meeting point. We had an English-speaking guide and a Russian-speaking escort (he stayed with us the entire excursion). Our group was international, but half were Russian! Everything was dubbed in both languages, so everything was clear. This excursion is available for one or two days, so we were with the day tour group. On the first day, we were taken to Racha Island. Some people went to the beach for a swim, while others, including us, headed out for 40 minutes to snorkel. Masks and life jackets are free. The boat was rocking so hard on the waves that half the boat felt nauseous. Take motion sickness pills even if you've never gotten motion sickness before. I missed out on snorkeling because of this, which is a shame! The water was incredibly beautiful! Then we were all gathered and taken to lunch on Racha Island. There was a buffet, coffee, tea—the food was ample and delicious. After an hour and a half of relaxing on the beach, our group departed for the second part of the excursion. With the help of a Russian guide, we were checked into a small house and left to our own devices. DINNER is not included; meals are a la carte. There is a supermarket on the island, but it's not a 7/11, so the selection isn't extensive. The hotel grounds are green and spacious, but there are also abandoned buildings. We walked around the grounds and went to the cliffs (incredibly beautiful; the sea is beyond words). We went to the supermarket and strolled around. By 3 or 4 p.m., the daytrippers had left and the beach was deserted. We swam and took plenty of photos. In the evening, we ordered dinner to the house and enjoyed the sunset from the terrace. There were no discos or spas, no massages, just pure relaxation; there wasn't even a TV in the house. We brought our own wine; I don't know if alcohol is on the menu. The cabin had a fan, which was sufficient. It wasn't hot, but it was a bit quiet, and the sea was roaring, making it unusual for sleeping. In the morning, we had breakfast: a choice of eggs cooked in various ways, tea, coffee, and juice. Toast with jam. It wasn't much, but you could probably order something from the menu; it was enough for us. Check-out was at 10:00. We handed over the keys and sat on the terrace by our cabin until our next group arrived. No one chased us away. It's very hot on the beach at that time. When the next group arrived, our Russian guide, Beka, found us right away and even arranged for us to have drinks and food with them. At 12:30, we were taken to Coral Island, where we spent about two more hours on the beach. There were almost no waves, swimming, and lounging on the sand. There are some activities, underwater and aerial, but we didn't dare. There's also a cafe, shower, and toilet. Then we were collected and driven back to the meeting point, and from there to minibuses and hotels. Bottom line: take motion sickness pills, otherwise the snorkeling will be ruined. Bring enough money for dinner and extreme activities and risk it. For us, it was pure relaxation and enjoying the beach, the sea, and nature. And the guide also told us that this was the queen's own private island!
