Thailand, to our great joy, is a visa-free country for Russian (and other) travelers. We’ve already written in detail about the visa-free stay in this amazing kingdom for 60 days, with the possibility of extending it for another 30.

However, new entry regulations to Thailand will come into effect on May 1, 2025. Now, tourists must obtain a Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) when crossing the border. This is a key change for the 2025–2026 travel season.

This article explains what this new regulation is, where to find the form, and how to fill it out.

What visas are available in Thailand?

If you plan to stay longer, it’s worth knowing which visas are available to travelers in 2025/2026:

  • Tourist visa — allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days.
  • Multiple-entry tourist visa — allows you to enter and exit the country for six months.
  • Business visa — suitable for those working or starting a business in Thailand.
  • Retirement visa — for those over 50; valid for up to one year.
  • Education visa — for students and those studying at licensed schools.
  • Family visa — for those whose spouse or child is a Thai citizen.
  • Investment visa — for those investing in the country’s economy.
  • Digital Nomad visa — for those who work remotely and dream of combining a laptop with a sea view.

What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?

Starting May 1, 2025, all foreign tourists will be required to enter Thailand using a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).

This is an electronic version of the traditional paper TM6 card, which was previously filled out manually upon entry into the country. The entire process has now been moved entirely online – the form was created to simplify and expedite the immigration process.

Why is it needed?

The TDAC serves as an official record of your arrival and contains important information for immigration authorities — personal details, travel itinerary, residential address in Thailand, and even health information prior to arrival.

Who should complete the TDAC:

Every foreign passport holder entering Thailand:

  • by air,
  • by sea,
  • by land,
  • as well as transit passengers if they leave the airport transit area.

Exception:

Travellers transiting without immigration control or entering with a local border pass.

Important:

The TDAC must be submitted three days before travel, including the day of arrival.

Registration began in test mode on March 1, 2025, and from May 1, 2025, completing the form became mandatory for all foreign citizens.

How to apply for a TDAC

You can fill out the Digital Arrival Card TDAC online on the program’s official website, either individually or for your entire family or group.
Be careful: don’t use third-party websites that charge a fee — issuing the TDAC is completely free!

What you need to indicate during registration:

  • First and last name;
  • Citizenship;
  • Passport details;
  • Phone number and email address;
  • Flight number and travel itinerary;
  • Purpose of trip;
  • Residential address in Thailand (hotel, apartment, etc.);
  • Health information (a brief declaration form is required).

After completing the form, you will receive a confirmation email, which you must present to the immigration officer upon entry, along with your passport and travel documents.

If you want to skip the line at passport control, we can always help you with our Fast Track service – convenient, fast, and stress-free.

While the TDAC system makes entry easier, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The form must be completed in English only;
  • Once submitted, basic information such as name, date of birth, passport number, and citizenship cannot be changed.

If you make a mistake, you will have to submit a new application. So please be careful when filling it out — the whole process takes no more than 10 minutes.

Fill out the form in advance, bring a good mood with you — and enjoy your vacation in one of the most beautiful countries in the world in the 2025–2026 season!
